4:36 pm in Uncategorized by admin

The Spirit of the Marsh is providing a whole Weekend Celebrating the Talents, Knowledge and Energy of our region at 4 locations in the village of Theddlethorpe. 23rd & 24th July 2011

Here, ordinary people just like you and me have freely given up their time and energies to bring you a whole weekend of fun, celebrating the ethos of “Inclusion; Participation; Being Valued; Recognition; Reward & Paying it forward ”. We are most grateful for the support & expertise we are receiving from so many private individuals & organisations from all corners of the community and from all sectors too, private, public and voluntary, who have come together to make this a spectacular weekend. There is something here for everyone, families, the young to pensioners and disabled people to enjoy.

This project  has received  no direct government funding, a deliberate move to show what a solid ethos; combined with a sense of community pride; a strategy, and will to succeed, that has created a support network that has allowed our Events Team to put on this wonderful spectacle, that celebrates the Talents knowledge and Energy that is available along this part of the East Coast, one that is often overlooked, yet full of hidden Gems!
The Spirit of the Marsh Weekend will also provide Theddlethorpe Village Hall with much needed funds to supply further opportunities to support and facilitate activities in their surrounding community, that in turn compliments the achievements being strived for by its nearest town Mablethorpe, as a place for entertainment, culture, sports and community activities. As well as instilling a sense of civic pride into a hub of the east coast in what is often neglected, compared the to its neighbouring regions the other side of the Humber and south at Skegness..
Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting the many the activities and attractions coming to this festival. Below is just a taster of what expect on the first of the four sights of the Spirit of the Marsh.
